Generally speaking, we have no one to blame for our neck pain but ourselves. Our daily routines, over and over again, usually lead to some type of neck or back pain. Nearly everyone will experience some kind of neck pain at some point in their life. We lean forward to stare at the computer monitor. We lie in awkward positions to try to read in bed. We do crafts while leaning over the craft table. We bend over too far while preparing meals on the kitchen counter. Is it any wonder our necks give out on us on occasion?
Neck pain can come from a number of different conditions or disorders including degenerative disc disease, herniated disc, pinched nerve or whiplash but the most common cause of neck pain is from neck strain.
Neck pain can be treated in a number of ways including cervical spinal decompression, inversion therapy, stress reduction and relaxation techniques, trigger point therapy, massage therapy and far infrared heat. These methods allow the muscles to relax and begin functioning properly again.
