From the time we begin to walk our spines are at the mercy of gravity. Gravity continually puts pressure on our spines causing the soft discs between the vertabrae to be compressed. This compression causes the fluid to get squeezed out of the discs and into other surrounding soft tissue. In a single day, it is believed that some people can lose up to 3/4" in height because of this compression. Over time the discs break down and lead to all kinds of problems like a herniated or bulging disc leading to inevitable back pain.
Inversion Therapy is a method that can reverse the effects of gravity by decompressing the vertabrae and discs and allowing the supporting muscles and ligaments to relax. This is generally done on an inversion table. The table allows you to lie on your back and put yourself in an inverted position which allows you to reverse the effects of gravity on your spine.
The medical community has largely ignored this time tested and proven technique to relieve back pain. This is because they are simply too busy treating back pain with medicines, injections, surgery and other "conventional" methods that may or may not work.
I use an inversion table myself and along with other close friends with back problems, we swear by it to aid in our low back pain relief. The Healthy Back Institute even has a free trial where you can use it in your home for 30 days to see if it works for you. That's how confident they are that you'll find back pain relief as well.
